Nothing beats flying down a corridor as a jet, then transforming into a robot, shooting the other transformer, then transforming back into a jet. Great fun. When I did find a game in Escalation Mode, it was really good fun. Nothing new but still good fun.
The story is weak, and the "random" load times during that stop the game for a few seconds is really annoying. I had issues finding other players for the CO-OP Escalation Mode.
Escalation Mode is Transformers co-op horde mode, and it works really well. However, on the PS4 version we tested, the game suffered heavily from the fact that it didn’t seem to have many people actually playing it. It is possible to play this game mode on your own when no-one else is around, but it’s very hard work, and frankly, not as much fun.
Overall, it’s not the worst Transformers game I have ever played but it’s also not the best. They could have spent a bit more time on some of the level designs, which were slightly bland and repetetive, and some of the loading issues (loading the next chunk of the game in the middle of a gun-fight isn’t the best plan ever), but if you find it cheap and love Transformers, it’s a fun game despite it’s flaws.
