The crafting system is brilliant and the Naval combat is far to much fun, making this one of, if not my favourite open world game ever made.

Dislikes

The Frame Rate dropped at times and at times the AI is just broken, making stealth very tricky. There isn't enough variety in the side missions.

The game is a vast improvement on Assassin’s Creed 3, but aspects of the game (the Free Running part of the Assassin’s Creed series) really needs a makeover, along with the AI, stealth etc.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing game, but once in a while during a chase the lead character can get stuck on a box or a small fence.

#AssassinsCreed3 Amazing gameplay, graphics & music. Some broken stealth sections & glitches. NPC's in Connor's story lack charisma

The improvements to the crafting system (borrowed from Far Cry 3) are a refreshing change from the complicated crafting that made it’s way into the previous Assassin’s Creed games.

I have dabbled in the Multiplayer aspect of the game and this appears to be a very good enhancement on the existing Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer, with new modes and upgrade options.

Overall, this is one of the best games I have played in a long time. There are a few issues at times with the Frame Rate on the PS3 version, but nothing that stops the overall enjoyment of the game.

Watchability: Is this game Living Room Material?

Yes

What is Watchability?

A lot of games are being played in the living room, where other people come and go. Some games are more suitable than others for that kind of viewing. To that end, Mini Game Reviews is evaluating game titles to see if they can be classified as "Living Room Material"

As with all of the Assassin's Creed games there is a fair share of violence, but no more than what the genre warrants, so stay and talk about the game with anyone else in the living room.

The wonderful Caribbean setting makes you wish you were there. It really is a great looking game. Can't help but like the main character.

The story is a bit less compelling than the "Ezio Trilogy".

  1. I must admit to having a soft spot for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, despite their flaws, but this game just works on so many levels. Really enjoyed my time playing it.

  2. Next gen will be awesome can’t wait to see the new sea engine and roam the Caribbean as a pirate assassin… Whomever thought up the setting for this world needs a medal.
Best in the series I think, but we will see.
