DOOM
#DOOM No health regeneration, incredible weapons, great level design, a good story. Thumping great music. #DOOM is back, a true modern classic. Great selection of upgrades, runes, weapons & EXO Suit. Haven't played much multiplayer yet, but single player is rocking, save an unreasonably hard boss fight
Middle Earth : Shadow of War
#MiddleEarth #ShadowOfWar It's unnecessarily long. Nemesis system is still great fun. RPG elements, loot & the skill tree are all welcome improvements & additions. The story is difficult to follow at times. It's good fun but not that good.
Guild Wars 2 : Path of Fire
#GuildWars2 #PathofFire Solid expansion pack at a great price. Nice QOL changes &new Elite Specializations. Well-told story & Love the mobility offered by the mounts in the wonderfully large maps. Not much to encourage new players to join the franchise. If you play, this is well worth the money
Kingdoms and Castles
#KingdomsandCastles Wonderful medieval SimCity. Great interface & cute graphics. Easy to pick up & play. A few issues with building placements, some buildings show a radius others don't. Has plenty of development planned for the future. Disabling the clouds was the best thing I ever did
Persona 5
#Persona5 Dungeon crawling, turn-based JRPG, crossed with a high school social simulator. It boasts gorgeous aesthetics, an amazing soundtrack, an interesting combat system & a story that keeps you playing well into the night. A perfect entry-point to the series for new players.
Nex Machina
#NexMachina A fast, fun, twin stick shooter with amazing graphics & sounds. There is so much variery. Easy to play, but hard to master - it's like #Resogun, just completely different.
Mass Effect Andromenda
#MassEffect #Andromeda At times, everything you love about #MassEffect is there; great cast, setting & story. At other times it's just a fun action RPG. The UI & upgrade system is a mess. When it comes down to it, with everything going on, you will want to keep playing.
Horizon Zero Dawn
#Horizon #ZeroDawn Amazing game with a great story & fantastic characters. Some of the best dynamic & fluid combat I have ever experienced. Combat makes you feel better about your abilities as a gamer & encourages you to be creative when handling different situations and weapons
Torment: Tides of Numenera
#Torment #TidesofNumenera Looks good. It has a lot of charm & the dialogue helps to describe what the game doesn't show you. The areas feel small, and the fights weren't engaging. I struggled to engage with the characters & the game failed to keep my attention at times.
Gears of War 4
#GearsOfWar4 Looks & plays like Gears of War. The story is OK, but doesn't manage to quite draw you in like the first one did. The controls are starting to feel a little dated & the pacing is a little off at times, but overall it's a fun, enjoyable experience. Great weapons & Horde mode just got better.
Battlefield One
#BattlefieldOne An amazing, intense Multiplayer Shooter, with great balance in gameplay and some fantastic maps. Great if you are in a squad, but without team to back you up it is a lot less rewarding. Slow character/weapon unlocks.
Recore
#Recore Game oozes charm & the premise is wonderful. But despite this, it struggles to hold your attention after a while, as the long loading times really start to disrupt the flow of the game. And lets not talk too much about the large open game spaces (all that endless walking). Great targeting, and a fun story with some interesting repeatable dungeons. Keeps me coming back for more.
Final Fantasy XV
#FinalFantasyXV Stellar soundtrack & breathtaking visuals. Story is at times flimsy, but is helped by watching the CGI movie “Kingsglaive” & the anime “Brotherhood”. New combat system looks gorgeous & feels powerful, but camera positions & controls occasionally acting up causes frustration. Must play for true fans & worth playing for first timers.
Deus Ex : Mankind Divided
#DeusEx #MankindDivided Brilliant voice acting. The story premise is well implemented, but the main protagnist seems to lack motivation. Feels easy to pick up and play, but the there are some really annoying micro-transactions, some linked to your characters level up kits. Overall a disappointment that shouldn't have been a disappointment. The last one was so good
Destiny – Rise of Iron
#Destiny #RiseOfIron There isn't much to bring new players in, or people who left the game back. Same Destiny as before, higher "light" cap & more loot. Same great guns & gameplay, but also the same problems - but this time with friends! It's still a great shooter.
Titan Quest – Anniversary Edition
#TitanQuest #AnniversaryEdition Game looks better than ever, and despite its age, it's still fun to play. The multiplayer option via Steam was great, but a couple of the matches were a little laggy. Nice to see achievements, but the controls feel really outdated.
Mantis Burn Racing
#MantisBurnRacing Old School top down racer, easy controls & a great multiplayer option. Lacks track variety, lack of power-ups means you always have to race to your best, which is both great and frustrating at the same time.
Hitman
#Hitman has a great pick & play feel to it. Wonderfully designed maps, with a lot of different ways to take our your target(s). The episodic release schedule really helps make this feel like a game designed for longevity and helps encourage you to replay the existing content.
Rainbow Six : Siege
#RainbowSix #Siege Good tactical shooter with a nice variety of guns & gadgets. Has some interesting game modes, but some are better than others. Add some friends into the mix and the game becomes a LOT more fun. The unlock system could be better.
Witcher 3 – Blood & Wine
#Witcher3 #BloodandWine an amazing expansion pack which only adds to one the best RPG's around. The inventory is still a pain though. CDProjekt is one of the best developers out there, and this is clearly an expansion for their fans. Well worth playing
Carmageddon : Max Damage
#Carmageddon #MaxDamage Car damage is great & there is plenty of variety, but the cars don't handle well at all. If they could fix the handling the game would be a lot more fun. In this day & age, it just doesn't cut it.
Ratchet & Clank
#RatchetandClank A brilliant re-style of an existing franchise. The Game oozes charm & plays like a dream, some great humour and a fun to play story. Interesting weapon upgrades, that keep you busy for ages.
Tom Clancy’s : The Division
#TheDivision Fun & enjoyable cover to cover shooter. Playing co-op really makes this game shine. The story holds the missions & gameplay together. The game looks good and plays well, but it is a little confusing at times, so you end up just grabbing a gun to do more shooting.
DmC – Devil May Cry – Definitive Edition
#DmC # DevilMayCry #DefinitiveEdition A wonderfully stylish & smooth game, which is a blast to play. Lots of dificultly modes & upgrades which add a definite sense of replayability. Combat is still wonderfully fast & furious.
